The Game of Love and Death | Martha Brockenbrough

Pickpick

Finished this on the plane to LA.

I never thought I'd love it this much. The story was beautiful, seeking the meaning of love and death, and of course life. But the audiobook was brilliant. There's serene and understanding tone in the narration which deepened all the emotions. And it had not one but three songs of its own, with lyrics and all. Definitely a pick!

Half-Way Status Update: Despite the premise which asks, "How much is too much communication or connectivity?" which I find timely and interesting, I hate just about everything else about this book so far: the rom-com styling, the plotting, the characters (and yes, I do "get it" as to why they are like they are,) the absurd theories thrown in, and the narration is sub-par. Sorry, life is too short to hate-listen #ArmchairAudies2017 ?

Laalaleighh Sad face. I've been looking forward to this. At least I know not to waste money on the hardback! 8y
Dogearedcopy @Laalaleighh I would definitely recommend checking it out from the library if you're still interested in it! 8y
Guildedearlobe I was going back and forth on this one. I've never really liked Willis and I'm avoiding listening to books JUST because they were nominated. So I think I'm going to avoid it. 8y
