Somehow I actually managed to finish this today! This is an odd book and I am not sure how much I liked it. There is no storyline, rather there are many stories about the guest workers of the UAE. Also there are walking talking cockroaches. Yes, this is very original! #2017summerreadingchallenge

This is due back to the library today so I will have to re-request it, ugh! It's odd and slow going, being gone for 10 days did not help lol. #2017summerreadingchallenge

So I enjoyed both of the July choices for #2017summerreadingchallenge by #tob --I don't know if I can pick a favorite!

Wow! A coming of age novel, but it's more than that too. Cat is now 35, a functioning alcoholic in NYC. A call from the younger brother of the best friend she had at age 15, in rural northern Michigan, sets the stage for the then-and-now narration. Very well done. #2017summerreadingchallenge #tob

Not my kind of book--the entire thing is one woman's thoughts over a week or so, as she goes to Greece to find her estranged husband. And she is unnamed, which just bugs me lol. #tobsummerchallenge2017 #tob #tournamentofbooks #2017summerreadingchallenge
