Such a fascinating book. I purchased this book on a whim just because the premise sounded interesting and it did not disappoint. It‘s the sort of book that makes you look differently at so many ways society functions. A 5⭐️ read for me and one I plan to keep and dip back into again. My 6th #14booksin14weeks read
#14booksin14weeks definitely behind on this challenge, not much reading time. Will Trent is definitely one of the best characters Slaughter has created & this mystery kept me guessing. This is Trent #2 , wanted to read this one before I check out the TV show. The authors books are definitely page turners but the crime descriptions can be very violent & vivid, not everyone‘s cup of tea.I can‘t wait to get to the next one.
For a while there I thought this was going to be a 5⭐️ book. The writing was beautiful and the plot was really interesting. However, by the end, the magical realism took over and was just too much for me. Probably more of a reader issue than a book issue but 3⭐️ none-the-less. My 5th #14booksin14weeks read.
It‘s been slow going this month so far, but I finished another #14booksin14weeks pick, so I‘m calling it a win. Happy to finally get it off my shelf. Rating is 3.5/5
I love sharks, so the underwater scenes were my favourite, but I just think I‘m not a contemporary fiction girlie anymore. They‘re almost always a 2-3.5 for me lately.
This was excellent, just as everyone said it would be. Very impressive for a debut novel and I loved the author note at the end that described the people in her family who had lived these events. I can remember watching Sarajevo being bombed on the evening news but it‘s so easy to forget the human side of war and this really brought that home. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and my 4th #14booksin14weeks book
My third #14booksin14weeks read and this was a slog to get through. It‘s been on my TBR for years after I read and really enjoyed Capital by the same author. I found it s difficult to keep the characters straight in my mind and ultimately just never wanted to pick it up. On to hopefully better things to end this slump.
Of the four #14Booksin14Weeks books I picked for last month I bailed on 3 😬
Oh well, at least they‘re off my shelf.
The only one I finished was Feet In The Clouds
Im right on schedule with my #14booksin14weeks! Im not exactly sticking to one a week, but instead trying to finish x-amount by the end of each month. Hoping to read 4-5 more in July! ❤️💥
