I‘ve spent the last seventy-three thousand days reading THRESHOLD. It‘s weird; I like it enough that I don‘t want to bail, but I can‘t seem to sit down and READ it. What should‘ve been a 2-3 day book has become a 5-6 day book.

Argh. I hate reading slowly. I‘ll definitely end up rating it lower than I would‘ve if it‘d taken me those 2-3 days instead of the better part of a week.

Graywacke Your pup looks suitably annoyed for you. 🙂 3y

Pickpick

Threshold is a book I reread every few years and I enjoy its magic every time. While there are a few things in Douglas‘ writing style that annoy me (arbitrary exclamation points and missing/barely-there character reactions - opposites I know) she is still an amazing storyteller and Tirzah‘s journey from free-woman to slave to Elemental Cantomancer will entrance me every time.

Mehso-so

It was an okay book. The first half was really good and exciting. I really loved the Tirzah - Yaqob - Boaz love triangle. The plot was also exciting. But after Tirzah and Boaz got together and the evil from Threshold was released everything went downhill. The second part was kind of boring. Maybe editing the second part would make the story better. This is for mature readers who also loves young adult fantasy books.
