Poverty Creek Journal
Poverty Creek Journal | Thomas Gardner
3 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Literary Nonfiction. Spiritual improvisations, radiant acts of attention: echoing Thoreau's Walden, the meditations of Guy Davenport, and Kenny Moore's groundbreaking articles for Sports Illustrated, Thomas Gardner strides through inner and outer landscapes. Freed by disciplined effort, the runner's mind here roams and mourns and remembers.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm sneaking some birthday presents early! Cupcakes and a beautiful, slim tribute to running that I've been wanting to read for a long time. I figure I need fuel (both physical and emotional) for my birthday long run tomorrow!

NatalieR Happy Birthday! 🎂 Have a great run tomorrow! 8y
youngreadrshelf Happy bday! Hope there is good reading and running!🎂 8y

#recommendsday- It took me 2 months to get this due to the small pub company, but it is worth it for this tiny book. Part Thoreau and part running journal. It is a beautiful look at nature and life through the eyes of a runner, but you don't have to be a runner to love this one.
