3 posts
The ideal book for older adults that have already worked with an earlier version of Windows and want to get up and going with Windows 10, this guide covers all of the important basic functions, including browsing the internet safely, sending and receiving email, organizing files and folders, viewing photos and videos, and listening to music. The book allows users to learn step by step and at their own pace how to work with the new programs and features in Windows 10, as well as how to configure Windows 10 to make their computers more user-friendly. It offers additional exercises for practicing a variety of different tasks, and there are instructional videos available online on the book's support website.

I can't remember the last time I vacuumed a senior citizen...especially after they were washed. 🤔 #LitsyHumor

kgriffith I‘m interested to know why I should pay to wash and vacuum senior citizens, what about this experience is of value to me? 6y
ReadZenRites How many senior citizens can I get cleaned at this flat rate at once? It does say plural. 😂 6y
Lreads @ReadZenRites 😂😂 6y
MStew Omg😂😂😂😂 6y
Ddzmini Well it‘s always nice to see people taking an interest in the elderly... 😳👀😝🤣🤣🤣 6y
Weaponxgirl I used to work with the elderly and we had one old man with dementia who's chair was near a door to the garden and he was very messy. He used to throw he's hot chocolate on the floor when he was finished and a lot of food didn't end up in his mouth. Whilst we obviously cleaned everyday we ended up with ants in his corner of the room (we thought he was secretly their King) so it ended up that along with ant traps that we had to pay extra... 6y
Weaponxgirl Attention to cleaning him and vacuuming around him and in and under his chair in particular (we never actually vacuumed him) so he didn't get swarmed with ants and this just reminded me of him and I laughed out loud. Sounds like a bargain price to me! 😂 6y

Just wanted to check a few things online. I hate it when that happens. Granted, gives me time to do #photochallenges, but have been sitting here for 15min already and nothing's happening.

rockpools Oh no! It always happens to me when I have a deadline. Hope it starts behaving... 7y
julesG @RachelO Nope, still at it. It's been over 20min now. I think I'm going to risk it and do the thing I'm not supposed to do: switch off the computer 7y
rockpools Sometimes you've just gotta do what you've just gotta do. Good luck 😬🤞 7y

julesG @RachelO Got the same response after rebooting. 😬😡😤 7y
rockpools @julesG Urgh, grim. Have a coffee and ignore it/leave it to sulk for half an hour? It's just unnecessarily stressful. 😠 7y
julesG @RachelO Did some photochallenges. But honestly, this is annoying. I should put Linux on one of my two computers. 7y
SilversReviews I hope it finally worked. I have been using Macs for the past five years. 😍😎 7y

Starting my morning giving my father in law a tutorial on how to do anything on his new-ish computer. God help me, when did I become his tech guru? The problem is that he doesn't understand enough to ask questions in a way I can understand, so there's a lot of around and around about what he really wants to know and needs help with.

Laura317 You are a kind soul! 8y
Lizpixie Yeah, I'm the resident techspert for my extended family too, trying to explain why a program works the way it does to a 68yr old cantankerous Derbyshire man, it does my head in just thinking about it😫 8y
DivineDiana Blessings to you. 🙏🏻 8y

Donna_sBookMinute Oh wow. And I'm insulted when I see a "For Seniors" device/app book at B&N. I don't think there's much difference from a "For Beginners" book. Have you looked into one of these for your father-in-law? 8y
BookishTrish That is stressful. If you lived closer, I'd teach him. My full time job has 12 hours of tech coaching a week in it #digitalserviceslibrarian 8y
MemoirsForMe You deserve a medal for this. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I have trouble trying to teach my Mon how to use the remote! 😄 wishing you much luck! 8y
