Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code - Book #3
Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code - Book #3 | Eoin Colfer
After being held prisoner for years, Artemis Fowl's father has finally come home. He is a new man-an honest man, much to Artemis's horror. He makes his son promise to give up his life of crime, and Artemis has to go along with it. But not until he has completed one last scheme. Artemis has constructed a super-computer from stolen fairy technology. Called the "C Cube," it will render all existing human technology obsolete. He arranges a meeting with a powerful Chicago businessman, Jon Spiro, to broker a deal for the C Cube. But Spiro springs a trap-he steals the C Cube and mortally injures Butler. Artemis knows his only hope of saving his loyal bodyguard is to employ fairy magic; so once again he must contact his old rival, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy police. It is going to take a miracle to save Butler, and Artemis's luck may have just run out.

Mission Impossible, meets Ocean‘s Eleven, meets James Bond—with our little (no longer so evil) genius and his mismatched band of “friends” (reluctant acquittances...?) as protagonists.

This was an exciting one. Also, bonus points for making the consequences of Artemis‘ mistakes real—he‘ll never learn otherwise.

4/5

And done. I have to say I didn't like this one as much as the first two, but it still has laugh-out-loud moments and, of course, Colfer's wit. I await my hold on book 4.

So much fun! I've liked all three that I've read so far in the series. I think this is slightly my favorite so far. Love the relationships.

This seems like a fun read! I started it today after registering it on #BookCrossing. I‘m reading Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel concurrently so I know the main characters and the premise of this series. I seem to get more out of science fiction and fantasy in comics than I do in novels so let‘s see if I actually will complete this book! 😃

SqueakyChu I‘m bailing on this book because I‘d rather not read a teen book at this time. It started off interesting, though. I‘ll keep it traveling in my #LittleFreeLibrary. 6y

Young Professor Moriarty, I mean, Artemis Fowl is at it again. He‘s overstepped a bit more than usual and with both parents back in residence his nefarious plots might be curtailed. Well, that and the fact he might not remember everything. Sometimes the best laid plans can go awry. #fowladay

Every year, my son's elementary school holds a book exchange. There are thousands of books organized by reading level, and every student is allowed to choose up to 4 books to take home for free. Kids are always SO excited when they learn they don't have to return them! ❤️ #raisingreaders
