The forth installment in G. L. Carriger's San Andreas Shifter series. Full of puns, drama, and warmth.

This was a lovely return to the San Andreas Shifters. I laughed and cried and smiled the whole way through. The romance was beautifully balanced on the double edged blade of sweetness and tension. Trick was delightful throughout. Sato was brooding and full of longing. And my heart ached for them and cheered for them beginning to end. Then their story is wrapped in the best community you could hope for. I loved it!

My early morning tea and read last few days.
Marvin the Merman has always been my favorite of the San Andreas Shifters ever since I first met him in Gail Carriger's short story Marine Biology. (It's free when you sign up for her newsletter The Chirrup.) He always sparkles . It was interesting to see a more serious side to him. Also learning more about merfolk. ⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig But that Epilogue is what I love most about this series. “You‘re the strangest merman I‘ve ever met.” Marvin patted his shoulder. “I know, honey. But just look,” he gestured widely at the massive barbecue. “We like adopting strays.”🧜🏼‍♂️

catsuit_mango I loved the new story and learning more about merpeople. Do you think we will get Kevin's story one day ? And who is the strange lady in the café, we did not get the full story on her.... 2mo
Crinoline_Laphroaig @catsuit_mango ya what was up with her? Also there keeps being mentions of the fact that Alec and Marvin aren't married. I forget which book it is but Marvin says he's waiting on Alec to ask him. Why haven't you asked Alec????? 2mo

Yes :) as an incentive to buying directly for her, the newest Gail Carriger book arrived a week in advance in my emails :) now off to read about otter-shifters (a warning that is the most explicit and adult series of hers)
