The Cry of the Owl | Patricia Highsmith

I‘ve brought all these books to the top of my kindle app as I‘ve had them for so long and keep forgetting about them! Other than the tagged book I don‘t feel very excited about any of the others so I thought I‘d ask my Litsy friends if any of these are worth a read? I have a feeling I‘ll ignore them unless someone tells me how great any of them are 😂

TrishB I have not read any 🤷‍♀️ 2y
Jari-chan I read The Stranger and am glad I did, but only because I need to know about it because of my work. Not sure it's something to read just for the fun of it... 🤷 2y
Cazxxx @Jari-chan I‘ll probably give it a go just because I‘m curious about it but not sure I will like it 2y
The_Penniless_Author I liked The Stranger a lot when I read it back in high school, though I can only recall the broadest outlines of it now. I know there's disagreement on where it falls on the "profound vs. pretentious" scale, but the writing itself is spare and direct, and it's a quick, pleasant read if nothing else. (Incidentally, that has to be the weirdest cover of The Stranger I've ever seen. ?) 2y
Cazxxx @The_Penniless_Author I‘m kind of intrigued to read it and like you say it‘s a really short read so I‘ll probably get round to it soon. I‘m sure it was free on kindle but it‘s such a horrible cover 😂 2y
