The Wounded Land
The Wounded Land: The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant Book One | Stephen Donaldson
6 posts | 17 read | 6 to read
Thomas Covenant returns unwillingly to a Land ravaged by four thousand years of Lord Foul's pestilence. Under the evil Sunbane, the people of the Land submit to cruel sacrifices; the rulers of Revelstone are corrupt, the fields and forests laid waste; the healing Earth-power impotent. Accompanied by a woman from his own world, Covenant begins a new quest to save the Land from the forces that have all but destroyed it.

Pickpick

In this book, the first book in the Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Covenant is transported once more to the Land, to find that 4,000 years have passed and Lord Foul holds the Earth in his grasp. Alongside Linden Avery, a doctor from his world, he struggles with the devastation of the world he once knew and to set things right. Covenant is not a likeable character but the world created is just fantastic

1. Oh, so many fictional places I'd love to visit! The ones that stand out are the Land from the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant & the futuristic universe from Dune.
2. March of the Penguins? 🤷‍♀️
3. Meeting my husband and a terrific group of friends first year of college!
4. It's probably already Wednesday for most of you, but if it's still Tuesday for you, join the fun!

This quote always stuck with me. It's not my "most favourite quote ever!" but it moved me. If I had to choose my all-time favourite, it would have to be the #LitanyAgainstFear from Frank Herbert's Dune. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge #greatquote

Texreader This is so true. When I've loaned books and they come back in bad shape I am devastated. 8y
