Oregon: The Romantic History of the Willamette Valley in Four Complete Novels | Birdie L. Etchison
1 post | 1 read
In the majestic Pacific Northwest of the early twentieth century, the Galloway siblings attempt to make their mark on the world-and, perhaps, find life partners to join them on the way. Author Birdie L. Etchison introduces the family in The Heart Has Its Reasons. Emily Drake, a plain Quaker, wants only the simple life. But things get complicated when she meets the dashing Ben Galloway-and he finds himself drawn to the sweet candymaker. The widow Kate Russell is trusting that Love Shall Come Again when two very different men enter her life - Jesse Galloway, the daring adventurer, and Luke Morrison, the endearing pastor. How can she discern between a passing interest and true love? Pearl Galloway is focused on her teaching, but the school board chairman seems overly interested in her. Pearl's job is in his hands, but her heart yearns for another man to meet her on Love's Tender Path. Anna's Hope has always rested in her love of nursing. Leaving the Galloway nest behind for a position on a remote peninsula is a true test of her dream. But can love find her there? A new century has dawned with its marvels of modernization that promise to change the world. But amidst all that's new, the unchanging nature of love - and of God - remains. You'll be charmed by the inspirational love stories in Oregon.

I didn't like this book at all. The characters were boring and not fleshed out. I rated this book a 2 out of 5 stars.
