Book 98📚 3⭐️
A soft pick. Typical middle of the road haunting/possession.
Nothing too wild but still a good read.

@ShelleyBooksie FINALLY it‘s the 30th!!! You FREAKIN KILLED this #AllHallowsReadSwap 🧟♀️The book selection #chefskiss, I just want to hide under a blanket and read until my eyes fall out 💀. I just love how you wrapped them up too 😆. You‘re the BEST! @MaleficentBookDragon THANK YOU so much for organizing and taking the time to host this great swap.
Kelley Armstrong‘s latest stand alone horror is a haunted house story with a high creep factor. I‘m not typically scared by horror stories, but this one got under my skin and definitely disrupted my sleep for a couple nights. I really liked the characters and the structuring of the story.
Kelly Armstrong never disappoints. I caught the twist just slightly before the protagonist, but only because we knew stuff she didn't know. #54-2024
This felt like a supernatural, almost Gothic-like thriller.
This is a dual timeline story stretching from the main character's teenage years to current day (my preference being the younger Nicola's story). But while the writing and plotline were OK, I did have some frustrations with Nicola as I didn't feel much connection with her and became exasperated with her wishy-washy attitude toward the "ghost" aspect of the story. Yes, she sought out ⬇️
A good read for Halloween…ghosts and seances!

Armstrong‘s latest standalone makes for a great #SpookySeasonRead! The book opens with Nicola, marveling at how her life has exceeded her dreams, with a happy marriage & remarkably good health, despite having CF. When tragedy strikes, she can‘t stop seeking contact with her dead husband, but finding herself debunking frauds. A weekend in a remote lake house with a professor, her BIL & a new friend seeks to be her last seance. A spooky ghost story!
I was given an ARC from St. Martins Press at NetGalley for my honest review.
#IllBeWaiting starts with bumps in the night and rachets up the tension from there. There are two timelines in the book, and they both feature seances gone wrong. The main character and supporting characters are well-developed. As the book progresses, tension accelerates to a hair-raising climax. Kelley Armstrong has created a solid ghost story.
Just started this ARC. It's really good.
