It is the year 2084. Reality is already in virtuality. The daily routine of Kajus, who works as a consultant psychologist, is the last remote conversation with those intending to commit suicide. He also spends his free time in virtual world - in the new world where relationships are built, discussions are held, games are played and travels are made. In this Universe, people no longer judge each other by appearance, age, gender or nationality, because in virtual world these concepts no longer make sense. Except that some live in the virtual Outskirts, while others live in the luxurious districts of the Universe... The future world created in the book seems both very distant and at the same time frighteningly close. Here, there is a constant balance between what is real and what is created, at the separation of the two worlds. If everything around us can be tailored to an individual, changed to suit his or her needs, can any facts and reality still exist?
Lithuanian dystopia! The idea of the story is good, but it was very slowly... Maybe because of too many topics covered, maybe because of the lack of persuasiveness and originality... But it was an interesting story
DilaraWhat language did you read this in? Your review isn't 100% positive, but I am interested. Unfortunately, it looks like none of Unė Kaunaitė's books are available in a language I can read (English or French)... Edited: On second thought, Litsy's description for the book is in English, so it's got to be available in that language. I'll look again.(edited) 3mo
Arvena@Dilara it's written in my native language (Lithuanian) and it's not translated into English (yet) :)3mo
Dilara@Arvena Keeping my fingers crossed for a translation, then 😁3mo
