89/100 Ann Leckie is one of the handful of authors who has never disappointed me with anything I've read by them. This will definitely end up as one of favorite books of 2025, and probably the best audiobook I've listened to this year. This collection of short fiction ranges from science fiction, to fantasy to folk tales, and each as unique in it's own way. Her imagination and writing skill leaves me in awe, so much heart, so much emotion, so ⬇️

RamsFan1963 beautifully written, I'm sorry I can't give a higher score that 5 stars. I also want to mention the narrator, Adjoa Andoh, who possess an amazing voice, her precise pronunciation of Leckie's difficult names and places was very impressive. 5 Infinite 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #Read2025 1w

Once again, it was a short story collection that stood out in June. Leckie is a big thinker and a phenomenal writer—everything she writes is weird and compelling and wonderful. I get most of it but not all of it and that‘s okay. Reading her writing expands my understanding the of the world/universe we live in—and where we might find ourselves in the future—and that makes for an excellent reading experience.

Leckie is always interesting, always thought provoking, always challenging me (as the reader) to think and engage from a different perspective. This is as true in her short stories collected here, as it is in her long form fiction. Some stories were unexpected—there is one told from the perspective of a dragonfly—while others were a return to the familiar worlds of the Imperial Radch and The Raven Tower. A good read for fans of her work.
