This book has lots of really interesting information; but it‘s SO boring. I found myself falling asleep while reading it, which I don‘t even remember the last time that happened. Very heavy on the chem, not my fav, but I loved learning about the process of making cheese and the author provides descriptions of all kinds of cheeses, which is really fun to read. I would give this a 3/5.

While this book definitely had more of a scientific viewpoint, which makes sense because of the name, it was still very interesting. At times, I did actually get a bit lost because of some of the science and biology information, however a few read throughs helped. As a massive cheese fan, it was a fascinating read!

Very interesting. But probably not the best thing to read while on the final leg of my internet diet. Not sure this will help with the final ten pounds lol

Probably one of the weirdest books I own, but honestly I love it. Loads of info about how cheese is made and ripened, the changes in flavours you get from the different types of animals, their diets, the bacteria used, and how scientists classify and study the tastes and flavours. My favourite is a machine which you basically stick your nose into, sniff and write down what you're smelling 👃 😂
