Not many books have a recovering alcoholic as the lead. Enjoyable story with lots of twists

I was unimpressed. The book started off holding my attention but then veered off into mediocrity. I don‘t want to be overly harsh, but the plot became really far fetched and also overly saccharine. And the main character is super into cars, which is fine, but the narration often read like an extended car chase. I just wasn‘t a fan.

This was definitely one that started out really strong, but fell off for me. I really always enjoy this author because I live in the area and she does really great with describing the setting and making it a part of the book. I thought it had some really strong elements that were interesting and kept me guessing and the dynamics kept me intrigued, but it did fall a little flat for me at the end.

Lisa Scottoline is a favorite author of mine and this book did not disappoint.
Family dynamics, secrets, sibling relationships & trust issues all help take you on a journey that is infuriating and satisfying at the same time.

I really liked this one! It started off great and kept me entertained the whole time! When nobody would believe TJ, I just wanted to scream! I love when books can bring out real emotions from people. 4.5/5

I discovered Lisa a few years back through the essays she wrote with her author daughter about their lives together, and I‘ve kept up with her new releases. …There is stuff going down in this story that‘s bigger than the Devlin‘s, but I don‘t think I‘ll remember those details in a month or two because it was the interesting dynamics of the Devlin family themselves that caught my attention.

A rich family full of lawyers and one ex-convict son who happens to be our narrator. This time though, he‘s not the one making a mess of things; it‘s his older brother. And as he wades through murder, and a slew of other criminal activity, his true heart shines through as he helps his sister fight for justice in a (shockingly based on true facts) case.

I give the authors‘s note and the research she did five ⭐️
