Grosse Pointe
Grosse Pointe | Ann Marie Aliotta, Suzy Berschback
1 post | 1 read
Grosse Pointe is one of the oldest communities in the Midwest, dating back to the mid-1600s. Its history tells a classic American story of the transformation of Native American hunting grounds to the fertile farms of European settlers to an affluent suburb that grew with fortunes of industrialism in the 20th century.

Pickpick

While outdated, it was still an interesting read about the history of Grosse Pointe. What I found most fascinating, besides looking at the photos to see how much things have changed, is how many organizations were started by women. Schools, hospitals, community clubs, all started by women back when women lacked a lot of agency. #newyearnewhome #learningaboutmynewhome
