I read on here not to read the prologue, and I‘m glad I didn‘t. I did enjoy Stephen‘s narrative, though whiney at times (oh to be a teenager again). I was intrigued while reading but wasn‘t quite satisfied with the ending. Overall it was an easy, quick read.
I‘m reading The Cemetery Boys currently.... Umm a teenage boy making me breakfast?? I‘m not hungry now 😅😂
Bluh. I am quite ill so just kind of reading and napping a lot right now. Mostly napping. But I finished this book pretty quickly.
It had potential, with a very The Lost Boys vibe and a lot of intrigue which kept me reading but honestly, I didn‘t understand what the motivation was for any of the characters...main or secondary. The ending was a let down as well.
Okay, back to my blanket-cave. Bluh.

I discovered this book while looking up music by a local band with the same name (check them out!). When I saw that the author is actually a trans guy I checked it out from the library but so far there‘s no LGBTQ content.
The main character is a little insufferable so far but I‘m going to stick with it because I haven‘t read much horror lately.

Stephen and his dad move from Denver, Colorado to the town his dad grew up in and left as soon as he could. It‘s not long before Stephen starts to hear stories of the Winged Ones. Huge raven like monsters.
I liked this book but I felt like a lot was left unsaid. I don‘t mind when stories leave out some aspects of the story but this one there were more than I‘m use to. When the finals reveal happened I was surprised.

My current read and the dinner I made in the crock pot today, white chicken chili.
I think this book would have been a pick for me without the prologue. Moving through the story without knowing where it was going, especially with a story that relies so heavily on mystery and anticipation, would have made it much more enjoyable for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the main character, but overall the book was engaging and worth the time. Great Halloween read 🎃
