Sahara: A Dirk Pitt Adventure | Clive Cussler
10 posts | 20 read | 2 reading | 7 to read
Clive Cussler’s breathtaking thriller is now available in a premium edition in an exciting new package. Egypt, 1996. Searching for a treasure on the Nile, Dirk Pitt thwarts the attempted assassination of a beautiful U.N. scientist who’s investigating a disease that is driving thousands of North Africans into madness, cannibalism, and death. The suspected cause of the raging epidemic is vast, unprecedented pollution that threatens to extinguish all life in the world’s seas. Racing to save the world from environmental catastrophe, Pitt and his team, equipped with an extraordinary, state-of-the-art yacht, run a gauntlet between a billionaire industrialist and a bloodthirsty West African tyrant. In the scorching desert, Pitt finds a gold mine manned by slaves and uncovers the truth behind two enduring mysteries—the fate of a Civil War ironclad and its secret connection with Lincoln’s assassination, and the last flight of a long-lost female pilot. Now, amidst the blazing, shifting sands of the Sahara, Dirk Pitt will make a desperate stand—in a battle the world cannot afford to lose.

As expected the guy ended up with the girl by the end.....
The end felt a bit rushed to finish but a overall good read.

It been a while since I read a book over 600 page's but I did enjoy this one and it's very different from the film, as usual!

I found another book shop today in Newcastle
The book Greengrocers.
They had a great clearance section outside so I got this chunkster for $4.
I was a bit disappointed in there true crime section but we can't have everything in life.

When you move into a place that has built-in bookshelves and books already in the place then you know your home 🥰🥰🥰📖😋

mydearwatson _Atlantis Found_ was really fun! I wasn‘t a big fan of _Lovely Bones_, but a lot of people did. Hope you like your new collection! 5y

Clive Cussler is in the house. My husbands supervisor was cleaning out a house he owns but is selling and gave us this whole bag full of Clive Cussler books. There‘s about 27 of them crammed in this bag.

Bklover Oh boy- about 15 years ago I went on a Clive Cussler (Dirk Pitt) binge that lasted about a year and a half! It was a ton of fun! 6y
CocoReads My oldest loves his books although her faves are the Oregon files with Dirk Pitt a close second 6y
Quirkybookworm I just adore Clive Cussler since the late 90s!! 6y

Honestly one of my favorites in his Dirk Pitt series. Movie wasn't bad either but definitely read this first.

#booktober #bestsidekick @RealLifeReading I love Clive Cussler novels. Or rather I love Clive Cussler's novel because each iteration is only slightly different 😉Al Giordino is a great sidekick and Steve Zahn is perfect to play him

Texreader I did enjoy this book. 8y

Finally begun reading this after my brother-in-law recommended it to me almost a year ago. Thoroughly enjoying it.
