THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER The seven rules to follow to realize your true purpose in lifedistilled by Arnold Schwarzenegger from his own journey of ceaseless reinvention and extraordinary achievement, and available for absolutely anyone. The worlds greatest bodybuilder. The worlds highest-paid movie star. The leader of the worlds sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnolds stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnolds father hammered into him above all: be useful. As Arnold conquered every realm he entered, he kept his fathers adage close to his heart. Written with his uniquely earnest, blunt, powerful voice, Be Useful takes readers on an inspirational tour through Arnolds tool kit for a meaningful life. He shows us how to put those tools to work, in service of whatever fulfilling future we can dream up for ourselves. He brings his insights to vivid life with compelling personal stories, life-changing successes and life-threatening failures alikesome of them famous; some told here for the first time ever. Too many of us struggle to disconnect from our self-pity and connect to our purpose. At an early age, Arnold forged the mental tools to build the ladder out of the poverty and narrow-mindedness of his rural Austrian hometown, tools he used to add rung after rung from there. Now he shares that wisdom with all of us. As he puts it, no one is going to come rescue youyou only have yourself. The good news, it turns out, is that you are all you need.

Such a fun one! Read very much like a one on one conversation with blunt statements and zero BS. After finding success in bodybuilding, acting, and politics, Schwarzenegger has entered his fourth "act" in life. Using tools and lessons learned over a lifetime of career highs and lows, Arnold is now focusing on bringing forth positivity to social media, continuing environmental initiatives, and motivating others to reach their full potential.

BookBelle84 I loved this book! He left no room for people to make excuses. I thought it was a neat approach because so much of the self-help book industry is about being gentle with yourself, etc.... 10mo
451Degrees @BookBelle84 totally agree. There‘s a time and a place for gentleness but one has to truly push themselves to their limits to reach their full potential! He was not afraid to say so! 10mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Not sure where I found this in my book wanderings, but it was fine. Sort of a self-helpy, motivational, “stop making excuses and put in the work” kind of message. He‘s pretty satisfied with himself, but he‘s also incredibly accomplished, so fair enough. Sort of like Jordan Peterson with more street cred and without the toxic masculinity.

Life advice from a person who accomplished a lot. There‘s no doubt that Arnold accomplished more than anyone ever assumed he would. And it is an inspiring story. And he gives great advice overall followed be interesting personal stories. However there‘s nothing unique from most self-help inspirational books you might read. What sets it apart is the messenger.
