#tuesdaytunes What is your favorite radio station?

I am fond of several, but the only one I actually still listen to is 88.5 WXPN out of Philadelphia. Memorial Day this year was brewing day, as I attempted my second homebrew, and I was jamming to their Block Rockin' weekend, playing three songs from every artist they played. They also hosted Frank Turner for an excellent performance on Friday, which they arrived live. ⤵️

TieDyeDude I really enjoy Frank Turner's music. I was fascinated with his 2019 album No Man's Land, which is a concept album with each song about a woman from history. 10mo

More than a travelogue, not quite an autobiography. There‘s a really great blend of insights into the author‘s life, songwriting, and what it takes to make a touring band work. There‘s the requisite amount of name drops without getting tired like other musician memoirs I‘ve read. This moment in the photo is one of my favorites and it was worth reading the whole thing just to get to it.

So far a decent travelogue. It‘s nice to read more about some of the characters from his songs.

Well, today is the first day of Spring, and nothing says happy new season of rebirth and new beginnings like a semi-melancholy folk song. So here's a line from Frank Turner's "The Opening Act of Spring". He's quite delightful, in case you want to hear the actual song.

Lunchtime reading. He lists all his shows so far at the back of the book and this was the show I was at! Nothing like music in a sweaty marquee in a muddy Derbyshire field.
