In a sequel to Folman's GN adaptation of Anne Frank's Diary, her imaginary friend, Kitty, comes to life in the present day as a personification of the diary, seeking to discover Anne's fate.
Parallels are clearly drawn between the nazi treatment of Jews in the Holocaust and the treatment of refugees in Europe today, and the message of protecting children from war is the more poignant since October 7 and the war in Gaza.
