This story uses repetition which is a great literary element for young kids when they first begin to read. I also think this fairy tale is a classic for kids because they love reenacting it and saying the troll's words in their own way.

I enjoyed reading this version of the well-known story about the three billy goats gruff. I have read other, more modern, versions of this story in the past. In regard to this specific retelling of the story, I enjoyed the differentiated depiction of the troll. I found Brown's depiction of the troll to be very interesting with the brown hue, long nose, and jagged teeth. I feel as if young children would find great enjoyment in this book.
