Young people coming to terms with prejudice and its effect on the world around them.Well-mannered Samuel and his mischievous younger brother Joshua are free black boys living in an orphanage during the end of the Civil War. Samuel takes the blame for Joshua's latest prank, and the consequence is worse than he could ever imagine. He's taken from the orphanage to the South, given a new name -- Friday -- and sold into slavery. What follows is a heartbreaking but hopeful account of Samuel's journey from freedom, to captivity, and back again.

Melissa_J I figured you would like the pen set 😊 I have a similar set, one of which says ‘my brain has too many tabs open‘ 6y

FantasyChick Hahaha @Melissa_J that is awesome! I brought these into work today and everyone loved them, so they are hidden so no one steals them of course, but they were a hit! I love great pens 😘 6y
Melissa_J @Wife I bought them from Chapters-Indigo, a Canadian book seller. They are an Indigo product so I think it‘s the only store to sell them. 6y
Wife @Melissa_J I‘m in Detroit. I will check to see if there is a store in Windsor (or Sarnia). It‘s only across a bridge for me. Thanks 🌹 (edited) 6y
