Read because my book club chose it.

Full disclosure: I hate psychological thrillers.

However, it‘s a hugely popular genre and this is probably one of the better examples. It‘s overly long, padded with superfluous detail and a side character story that added nothing, but at least the plot was plausible. I would have preferred to read the story from the local police inspector‘s point of view, though.

First finish for #RushAThon #Readathon

I loved this book! I‘m a sucker for books about dynamics between parents of kids at school (think Big Little Lies). I really appreciated the structure of this book bc it gives insight into each of the characters at the right time. I was satisfied with the ending. This makes me want to read Perks‘ other novels. I will definitely check out her next one! Have you read any of her other books? How were they?

The Whispers is a great book that uses shifting perspectives to tell a compelling story that was equal parts intense and mesmerizing. It starts off slowly after giving you an incomplete glimpse at the end, but ramps up speed all the way to the end.

There's a lot of good to be said about the characters and their characterizations, but I can't think of anything that wouldn't spoil the fun of letting their world itself for you instead.

A psychological thriller where the cliffs in the town play a big part in the story.

This book explored a complex, toxic best friend relationship between Anna and Grace. It focused on a web of lies and contained dark secrets from their childhood.
After one lively evening in the pub, things will never be the same. One of them goes missing, but who is hiding the truth?
Accusations are thrown, rumours spread like wildfire but one of them takes matters into their own hands.
The story is a slow burner but more a psychological read.
