A Game of Lies
A Game of Lies: The New Thriller from the No.1 Bestseller | Clare Mackintosh
12 posts | 12 read | 1 reading | 7 to read
THE NEW THRILLER FROM THE NO.1 SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER They say the camera never lies. But on this show, you can't trust anything you see. Stranded in the Welsh mountains, seven reality show contestants have no idea what they've signed up for. Each of these strangers has a secret. If another player can guess the truth, they won't just be eliminated - they'll be exposed live on air. The stakes are higher than they'd ever imagined, and they're trapped. The disappearance of a contestant wasn't supposed to be part of the drama. Detective Ffion Morgan has to put aside what she's watched on screen, and find out who these people really are - knowing she can't trust any of them. And when a murderer strikes, Ffion knows every one of her suspects has an alibi . . . and a secret worth killing for. Praise for The Last Party, a DC Ffion Morgan thriller: 'Superb, with echoes of Agatha Christie' PATRICIA CORNWELL 'A dark delight of a murder mystery' JANICE HALLETT 'Detectives Leo and Ffion make a storming debut' BELINDA BAUER 'Mackintosh is just getting better and better' PETER JAMES 'An absolute triumph' CLAIRE DOUGLAS 'I fell in love with courageous, complicated DC Ffion Morgan' RUTH WARE 'This is the new crime series you need in your life' WILL DEAN 'Expertly plotted and relentlessly gripping' LUCY CLARKE

So good! I loved every minute of this follow up to The Last Party except for the end where it ended on a cliffhanger. And the next one isn‘t out yet. But it was a solid mystery, had great character development, and a fast pace and I‘ll look forward to the next one eagerly. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Really getting into some books set in Wales. This is the 2nd book in the Ffion Morgan series and I might have liked it more than the 1st!

This one has a reality tv show set up in the mountains and a contestant goes missing. While they‘re trying to find the missing contestant, the show runner is murdered.

This was a good mystery, but I really liked the relationships!

The sequel to The Last Party. Once again, the detective is in town to resolve a murder. This time it involves participants (in a reality TV show) ready to do anything for their secrets to not be televised. 🎥📺

This was even better than the first installment of this new series by an author whose standalone novels I‘ve really enjoyed. The reality show setting was so good and allowed the reader to try to guess what was happening. I am hoping this series grows into a lengthy one!

This was a great addition to this series! DC Morgan is once again solving a murder mystery in her small Welsh town, but this time it involves a reality tv show filming there. I loved this element and trying to piece together the puzzle of what happened and what secrets the contestants were trying to hide. Will definitely continue with the series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Listening to this interesting murder mystery set on a reality TV show while I write out wedding invites. (One Perfect Couple has a long hold time on audio, otherwise I would be listening to that.) I seem to bouncing from book to book lately.

Fun! I read, liked, and didn‘t really remember the first Ffion Morgan book, and this one was good too! About a morally bereft and totally believable reality tv show that involves contestants living together on a mountain in Wales… that happens to be in Ffion‘s town. Then crimes happen! I wish I knew how to pronounce the Welsh phrases in my head!
