Fear the Flames | 
pickThis was pretty good. Interesting worldbuilding and fun characters. I like banter, but this book was bordering on too much for me. I also felt like the middle part dragged. Maybe because I was waiting for the heist part of the book, which doesn't come until the very end. So soft pick and I do plan on picking up the next book when it comes out.
pickThis is a soft pick for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and banter between the main characters. The plot had some major holes that should have been tightened up by an editor.
A pet peeve I‘ve discovered this year is when publishing companies pick up self published books and don‘t bother to edit them. I get that the original version sold, but with a little tweaking the updated version would sell even better.

Strong heroine, a bit of an arrogant (but sweet) hero, deadly monsters, great banter, and oh yeah, dragons (although I think we‘ll see more of them in the next book).
Just a heads up, there is physical, mental and emotional abuse for the heroine to endure at a young age.

Had a Dr appt an hour away yesterday, so took advantage and also stopped at Barnes and Noble. Found another edition of Persuasion that I don't have yet. Also got Fear the Flames and a pretty edition of The Do-Over with sprayed edges.
pickGo read it. Dragons, romance, and both MCs kick ass. I can‘t explain how much it hooked me. 5 ⭐️

Slow burn but so much romance. There is hardly a time when the MCs are parted.
