Dr. Cornelius Fairbanks is the new single emergency room physician in Crestview. Lauren, Audrey's best friend, has been keeping a secret. Due to her frequent visits to the ER, Dr. Fairbanks discovers Lauren's secret. She has the same secret a person dear to his heart kept hidden until death. With more visits to the ER, the secret is at risk of getting out. Cornelius gives Lauren his number to call him for help. Her calls of distress results in him coming to her rescue each time. Coming to her rescue leads to him taking her to the one place where he knows he can keep her safe without exposing her secret, his home.
