I generally love books about the 3 fates, so I was very interested in this. This book has complex world building. A little too complex for my tastes. There was too much information to process and I felt confused most of the time. Io and Edei were a cute couple, but that didn't make up for the rest of the book. I found myself forcing myself to finish the book, and that is not a good sign.

Didn‘t like the vibes in this one. Super depressing. The fighting ring with animals killing each other was a huge no.

There is a wraith stalking the slums Io calls home, & it‘s up to her as someone who can see the threads of life to hunt them down & stop them.

There was a lot I liked. The relationships between the three sisters were complex, the reinterpretation of Greek mythology was fascinating, & the pacing was great up to the end. But I‘m not a big fan of instalove or fated soulmates, & the ending felt rushed, but I am interested enough for 2! 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

A world where the children of the Greek gods inherit their powers. Io & her sisters are descendants of the Fates. She & her soulmate, who doesn‘t know he is, must save them & other women from the person severing life-threads.

I didn‘t enjoy this one very much. It was kind of boring. The plot was good, but the writing wasn‘t. I didn‘t like all but one of the characters (her soulmate); they had little to no arc.

Really enjoyed this, though I didn‘t realize it was the start of a series so was kind of bummed that I don‘t get a full conclusion.

This was a solid 4-star book up until the end, and then it was like the author ran out of paper. It was so chaotic and rushed, and I personally found it so unsatisfying that I had to take it down a star. I did like that the threads reminded me of an old Stephen King book called Insomnia. I also thought the characterization was well done. That ending, though--so disappointing!

This was one of my favorite YA fantasy books of the year! Io, a descendent of the Fates with the ability to cut the threads of those around her, must team up with her fated mate to solve an investigation into wraiths being unleashed into the city! Threads that Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou is an amazing YA fantasy inspired by Greek mythology. The story revolves around Io, who is a cutter, meaning she can cut the invisible threads between people. In the world, children of gods can inherit their powers, and Io has inherited the powers of the Fates. When Io discovers that someone is killing women, she decides to investigate and find out who is committing these crimes.

Halfway through the book, I was already thinking I'd still finish this but won't pick up the rest of the series. But. Oh. My
Gods. Now I need the next book.

It's just so-so, though. I know I've outgrown YA so there are parts I didn't like.

I, too, am one of three sisters. I get it.

I thought the book started out a little slow, but somehow, I got sucked in and just had to finish the book. It ends on a cliffhanger, so I hope we get the next book soon. I was surprised by how much I liked the story, it was so well-balanced between plot and characters. The whole concept felt unique, I don't think I've quite read anything like it.

I have not been a fan of books with gods, mythology or fate lately as they seem to bore me. I wanted to give Threads that Bind a fair shot and I was excited about the premise but unfortunately it failed to hold my attention.
