An atmospheric adventure story. A band of misfits must work together to save one of their friends. I loved the atmosphere, the character growth, and the blossoming romance. Touching and tense. The ending felt a bit rushed and cool.

I think this will be fun. So far, the snarky tone and sense of atmosphere is fantastic.
Secrets & selves will all be discovered when three teens become friends because of a haunted house in the middle of the woods, & the ghost who won‘t let one of them leave.
Is cozy horror a thing? Because I kind of feel like this is that. This was a charming little story about found family, self discovery, & a very creepy house & twister ghost. The romance felt a bit rushed, & the ending felt abrupt, but the narration was all on point! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
This was kind of a perfect Augtober read. It's not particularly scary, but it does involved a teen boy stuck in a house in the woods, witchcraft, and some blood magic. But it's also about found family and a sweet queer romance and a book about grief and finding yourself. It takes place in the summer too, so now is time to read it!
This YA horror/paranormal/mystery debut is solid & generally entertaining. Found family, a hunted house, & family history feature prominently in this ghost/haunted house story. The logic behind things doesn‘t always make sense, however, a problem exacerbated by the slow roll out of explanations. There also isn‘t much tension or horror, for that matter. If there is such a thing as cozy horror, this is it. A good effort for a debut.
This YA story is described as “Cemetery Boys meets The Haunting of Bly Manor,” and I have to say, that‘s sounds like a pretty good way to spend Saturday night.
