Stayed up late listening to this propulsive, chilling take of a former child star who is unable to outrun the doomed cult horror movie she starred in as a child. Is the film really cursed, or is a murderer on the loose? Highly recommend. #audiobooks

As a horror writer, I‘m trying to listen to the audiobooks available of the novels on the preliminary ballot for the 2023 Bram Stoker Awards. #horror #audiobooks
Starting Burn the Negative to scratch my slasher craving! 😂 Also, a friend gave me the bookmark and I can‘t! 😂😂😂
This is a book about a cursed film (think the Poltergeist deaths but more). The MC was a child star who's most famous movie is a cult legend and is wildly assumed to be cursed... so of course 20 years later there's a remake in the offering. With a new name and a new career as a journalist, she thinks the nightmare is behind her, but she's soon dragged back in as the curse awakens. #Scarathlon @Clwojick @StayCurious #SkeletonCrew @Emilymdxn
Filling the slasher trope with page turning fun! A former child star turned journalist reluctantly returns to the horror film set that is getting a recent remake only to discover that many of her ex-castmates and crew have died under mysterious circumstances. Upon further investigation, she finds a connection between the fictional movie's Needle Man killer and a real-life copycat.
Low pick. UK journalist, Laura Warren, is sent to cover the remake series, It Feeds, based off the cursed film The Guesthouse. A film who saw 8 people related to the making of it die horrible deaths. We find out Laura Warren is really Polly Tremaine, the child star actress who played Tammy Manners in the movie The Guesthouse. People on the set of It Feeds are dying and everyone is asking if the curse is back. This had some pacing issues. 👇🏼
This started out so good….90s horror nostalgia, possible haunted movie set/house, a monster with needles for fingernails….☑️➕! Each chapter was relatively short and ended with some form of mixed media related to the filming at the heart of the story, whether that was part of an article, screenplay pages, or something similar. It did start feeling a little long and I wanted it to just move along to the conclusion, but to be honest the ending ⬇️
