Kick Me
Kick Me: Adventures in Adolescence | Paul Feig
4 posts | 6 read | 7 to read
Written in side-splitting and often cringe-inducing detail, Paul Feig takes you in a time machine to a world of bombardment by dodge balls, ill-fated prom dates, hellish school bus rides, and other aspects of public school life that will keep you laughing in recognition and occasionally sighing in relief that you arent him. Kick Me is a nostalgic trip for the inner geek in all of us. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Brought this with me on a recent trip, about halfway thru now. It's cringey, it's heartwarming, and sooooo insightful as to the mind behind Freaks And Geeks 😂 a nice light read that's easy to pick up and put down when needed

This was tough to narrow down (especially the letter T for some reason), but here are mine:

"Kick Me: Adventures in Adolescence" by Paul Feig

"(The) End of Faith: Islam, Terror, and the Future of Reason" by Sam Harris

"I Killed: True Stories of the Road From America's top Comics" by Ritch Shydner and Mark Schiff

"Them: Adventures With Extremists" by Jon Ronson

"Headhunters on my Doorstep" by J. Maarten Troost

Pickpick

Day 20. #Funnybooks. I was going to pick David Sedaris but then thought I would opt for these cringe-worthy essays about growing up in the 1970s by Paul Feig (the creator of Freaks and Geeks and the movie, Bridesmaids). And yes, those are tap shoes on the cover of Superstud. #augustofpages @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
