1 post | 1 read
The underworld inhabits the Thames, but Scotland Yard's finest detective is never far behind them . . . A dropped package puts him on the trail of an international diamond smuggling operation which uses it as its entry point. Further complications arise during a display of furs and jewels, but danger comes from an unexpected quarter.

The main plot, involving smuggling and potential robberies on the river, was great. The subplot involving the teenager abducted for sexual reasons was terrible, especially because characters (male AND female) expressed the view of some girls being attractive in a way that men “can‘t help” responding to. 🤮 I plan to recycle this book rather than give it away.
