Mehso-so

Despite the title, the writing lacks the exaggeration and fun mock-seriousness of his TV interviews and standup. The writeups accompanying his impressive celeb caricatures at times here feel part Wikipedia entry and part…namedrop? Or at least like a list of famous people he‘s met and/or admired. Sometimes we get a great fleshed out story (like the one recounting his first Tonight Show appearance), but often times we‘re left with a quick sketch.

Pickpick

Who would have known!? The caricatures are incredible. A hidden talent from a SNL alumni, stand-up comedian, and hiking enthusiasts. I saw him at a comedy club in Indianapolis before the pandemic and his act was hilarious. Don‘t overlook the stories, they are interesting and funny. The practical joke played on him by the Manning brothers is worth the read. Autographed copy.
