It hides in the black of the forest and it waits. It stalks. And it wants all their lives.

After losing his love a man goes hiking with his friends only to find more darkness. This could have been much better if it was just a short story. Never connected with any of the characters. A prolonged journey into boredom. ⭐️⭐️

Scary story but the “twist” was obvious from the beginning. I wanted to love it. Maybe it was because I was suffering from a book hangover after reading Fairy Tale. Still, it was a fun quick read.
