Science Camp: Erica‘s Quest extends on the Stranger Things story. It allows for kids to get to know their favorite characters even more and learn about some of the more side characters. By creating this graphic novel Greg Pak allows for the story to take on the same sort of feel as the show. You get to see your favorite characters in action again!

This book takes a new spin on the Stranger Things story. When a little girl gets her books taken away she goes to extremes to try and get new ones. The overdramatized emotions in the comic will help kids be able to relate to what the characters are feeling. They use of speech bubbles throughout the story allow for good communication.

I think this is a great way to show how ideas can span across different types of media. From TV shows and movies, to graphic novels.

“I‘m… not sure how this is gonna hold up in court.” I think it puts a fun spin on a serious thing that‘s going on in the book. I think it will keep kids interested instead of constant seriousness.

I think this would be great for older kids. They say words like “crap” and “nerd” and some parents obviously do not want their children knowing those words. But they are most likely reading this if they watched the show. I think it would help kids that are familiar with the show be more expressive in their writing from seeing it in 2 different medias.

Stranger Things, Greg Pak, 2022. This book is a mini adventure based on the Netflix show Stranger Things. They go through their typical coming of age conflicts, mean/ flirty/ funny relationships.
