Loved this memoir. He was very transparent and entertaining.
I have followed Tyler Merritt on social media for awhile so was curious to read his memoir. I appreciated his vulnerability, sense of humor and tribute to his mom. His is a story worth knowing.
If you wondered what Trevor Noah's book would be like if set in America
This was a delight—an honest, vulnerable, funny memoir advocating the principle that proximity (and vulnerability) breeds empathy. He weaves in some serious conversations about racism in the U.S.—both his own experiences and brief sketches from history. And his own story is relatable and a joy to read. I really enjoyed both his voice and his message.
Merritt shares his own story with great openness and vulnerability, inserting some historical/geographical context as his story intersects with larger themes. Got to love a man who loves theatre. Appreciate his self awareness and honesty.
