23 #61 I absolutely loved this book. The style of writing. The descriptions of the location. The character development. Everyone was likeable. Everyone was complicated. So well done.

Can‘t get into this one so I‘m gonna bail lol
Like the cover though
I wanted to like this more than I did. This story was told in two time periods 1950 and 2022 all set at the outer banks of N.C. At a seaside resort, I did enjoy the atmosphere but the story was too long drawn out and I really didn‘t like most of the characters finally 3/4 in the story starts pulling together and revealing some of the mystery. ⭐️⭐️💫
Usually I tend to let my poor Amazon First Reads books linger forever in my Kindle library, but I figured I should give this pick a try while we‘re in beach reading season! We‘re not going on a vacation this year, but this book succeeded in transporting me to the shores of North Carolina. Unfortunately, I didn‘t feel much of an emotional connection to the characters. The dialogue often felt wooden and the plot seemed contrived.
Delightful. Mostly a story of summer in 1950 and how choices made affected 3 generations. Lots of puzzles and a couple surprises.
