Murder rocks a wedding celebration at an idyllic lakeside homeand librarian-turned-sleuth Greer Hogan could be next on the killers guest list in this second exciting installment, perfect for fans of Louise Penny. Librarian Greer Hogan is on hand to celebrate her old friend Sarah Whitakers nuptials at the Whitaker summer home on beautiful Mirror Lake, just outside the upstate New York village of Lake Placid. But Greer has an ulterior motiveto gather information that could reopen the investigation into her husbands murder, a crime for which she believes an innocent man went to prison. Her plans come to a shuddering halt when a wedding guest goes missing and turns up dead in the lake. The guest, Brittany Miles, was an employee of the Whitaker family whom Sarah had long suspected was up to no good at work. The police have no leads, but Greeran avid reader of crime fiction who possesses an uncanny knack for deductionbegins her own investigation. She learns that the victim was seen with a mystery man right before she disappeared. Then the autopsy reveals that she didnt drown in the lake after all, but in the reflecting pool in the Whitaker garden. The suspect list is as long as the guest list itself, with no apparent motive. Now, Greer must rely on the wisdom of her favorite fictional detectives to tease out truth from liesand keep herself out of the killers sights.

Mehso-so

Disappointed with this one, especially after I really liked the first in the series. I couldn't get into the ebook version and had to switch to audio. I liked the narrator but it took almost 40% for the murder and mystery to start. I found the ending lackluster, but I am looking forward to the next one in the series, which takes place at the library again.

Pickpick

This series, about a small town librarian who left her high-powered executive life and became a librarian after the murder of her husband, has likable characters and interesting stories. The books are also short enough and light enough that they can be quickly read. This one had a few too many characters, and I had to sometimes backtrack to remember who some of them were; however, I still liked it. I also love this cover.

Shadow in the Glass is the 2nd in Hilliard‘s Greer Hogan mystery series. In this entry, Greer (my favorite career change librarian) is attending her friend Sarah‘s wedding. During the week long celebration, an executive from the family firm disappears and then is discovered drowned in the lake. With the help of her friends Greer investigates a murder with few motives but a number of suspects. Interesting and twisty but unsatisfying ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️+
