pickThis memoir written in letters by the author to his mom broke me. Most of William's life his mother was absent from due to her struggles with mental illness. We see through his own words how hard this is on him as he's growing up.
Listen Mama is raw, emotional, and a very well done coming-of-age memoir. It's great as an audiobook too.
