An interesting, moderately intense thriller with a cult-style premise & decent stakes. Good twists & turns with an intelligent plot & solid writing. Slow first half pacing & unbelievable over-the-top moments reduced my enjoyment & the protagonist actions weren't always logical. The slightly rushed ending had some great surprise twisting for a solid finish. Overall, a decent read that makes me think I may have to give McKenzie's backlist a glance.
3½⭐Almost a Pick...but not quite
You could call it a slow burn or you could call it boring and there were times when both of these were actually true. It reminded me too much of The Collective which I also had mediocre feelings for. Only the last 10% was exciting, especially since I didn‘t see that twist coming at all…it stepped up this 3-star story to a 3 and a half stars.

This book was much too long — but an interesting concept.
This legal-ish thriller drawing from the #MeToo movement makes for an exciting and intricately plotted read. Lawyer Nicole has followed the plan for her law career & when it‘s suddenly de-railed, a women‘s networking group appears to give her the lifeline she‘s needed… but is her husband right that it sounds cultish? A genuine pageturner, this kept my attention from start to finish! I think there‘s a lot here that could lead to lively discussion!
I got halfway through and kind of paused on this one, not because I didn't like it but because I missed a lot important plot points on the audiobook. I will return to it soon and leave a review!
Review is up…you do not want to miss this one!

I enjoyed this one and found I could not put it down, but the ending is quite complicated and maybe not the best to read in the wee hours of the morning. I had to reread the last couple of chapters today to really understand what happened. That being said it was a fun, riveting thriller about the need for women's networking to balance the 'old boys network'. If you are into thrillers, the law and women's issues, this one is worth a try. 4/5

What are you reading? 😊
1. Only 15 pages in, so..... 5⭐ 😂
2. The Storyteller by Dave Grohl. Hands down, best memoir I've ever read to date.
3. I am grateful for being alive. Every day above ground is a good day.

Oh man, this was a great thriller with a million twists until the very last page! Nicole fears losing her job as an attorney when she‘s told her billing hours fall short of expectations. Coincidentally, she is invited to Panthera Leo, a group of women who vow to always stick together and empower each other in the face of the male patriarchy. Sound too good to be true? Of course! I adore McKenzie‘s novels!
