This turned out to be really excellent. The amount of raw and unapologetic courage it took this woman to write her story is nothing less than awe-inspiring.

Uggghhh. This book. I'm trying REAL hard to look past the American arrogance the author has when describing her impression of Italy. In my opinion, she has waaaay too many negative (and, frankly, petty) things to say about a country that she had the privilege of being able to move to with her family for her husband's job. I guess I just wish she'd show a little bit of grace. *HEAVY SIGH* I will power on since it's still early in her story.
CHAPTER 3: The Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity
Jill's husband, Bart, gets an offer to live and work for one year in Avezzano, Italy. 🇮🇹
I found this book at a thrift store, and I immediately recognized the story since it happened to a local woman. I had no idea she wrote about her horrific experience. Coming up on the 20-year anniversary next month, I am really looking forward to learning how she has navigated such grief-stricken waters.
