5 posts | 7 read
The origin of Erica Slaughter, monster hunter, is revealed in this volume of the Eisner Award-nominated horror series. Erica Slaughter went to hell and back in Archers Peak, but that may be nothing compared to the events that forged her at the House of Slaughter. What events brought Erica to the House of Slaughter? And what did she have to do to join the Order of St. George? Erica Slaughters origins are finally revealed in this volume of the Eisner Award-nominated series from GLAAD Award-winning author James Tynion IV (The Woods, Batman) and artist Werther DellEdera (Razorblades). Collects Something is Killing the Children #16-20.

My last read before midnight.

This is another excellent collection in this series and now I must get my hands on Volume 5. 😁

5 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ I finally get the background I have been wanting. Volume four takes us back in time where we find Erica and the first monster she ever encountered. We find her mentor who welcomes her into the society as well as all the missing information we have needed about the society. It‘s inner workings, the masks, the colors, all of it. Out of all the books in the series, this one went by the fastest.

LibrarianRyan I‘d be interested in knowing where Erica‘s mentor and her “brother” are now. Overall, I continue to love this story and I‘m very thankful I have book number five to get me going next. 2y

4/5

Vol 4 is a flashback to how Erica was recruited to the House of Slaughter. I think it added some important world building.

I was going to read this comic and add up my points for posting, but I guess it will have to wait. There‘s a cat asleep on my book! The kittens are growing rapidly….
