2 posts | 2 read
A brave starship crew are drawn into the schemes of interplanetary powers competing for galactic domination, in this epic space opera from the best-selling strategic boardgame, Twilight Imperium Captain Felix Duval and the crew of the Temerarious quietly patrol a remote Mentak Coalition colony system where nothing ever happens. But when they answer a distress call from a moon under attack, that peaceful existence is torn apart. They rescue a scientist, Thales, who’s developing revolutionary technology to create new wormholes. He just needs a few things to make it fully operational… and now, ordered to aid the scientist, the Temerarious is targeted by two rival black-ops teams intent on reacquiring Thales. Can Felix trust Thales? Or is this a conspiracy to tip the balance of power in the galaxy forever?

When a scientist claims to have invented a machine that will create wormholes at the touch of a button, three different political systems send operatives to retrieve the device and the scientist. Mayhem, betrayals, unexpected alliances and murder happens as they vie to control this incredible device.

Interesting and fun, with lots of humor amidst the mayhem.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Celestine I've been looking for more Sci-Fi! How would you rate this out of 10? 3y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Celestine - My favorite scifi this year was Project Hail Mary. If you enjoy YA, I also really enjoyed the Aurora Cycle (starts with Aurora Rising) and the Sentinels of the Galaxy series (starts with Navigating the Stars). 3y
Celestine @TheAromaofBooks Thank you so much! Project Hail Mary is already on my to-read list I'll have to get to it soon. 3y
