Book Two in the Rogues of the Republic series.Who would have thought a book of naughty poems by elves could mean the difference between war and peace? But if stealing the precious volume will keep the Republic and the Empire from tearing out each other s throats, rogue soldier Isafesira de Lochenville Loch to friends and foes alike is willing to do the dishonest honors. With her motley crew of magic-makers, law-breakers, and a talking warhammer, she ll match wits and weapons with dutiful dwarves, mercenary knights, golems, daemons, an arrogant elf, and a sorcerous princess. But getting their hands on the prize while keeping their heads attached to their necks means Loch and company must battle their way from a booby-trapped museum to a monster-infested library, and from a temple full of furious monks to a speeding train besieged by assassins. And for what? Are a few pages of bawdy verse worth waging war over? Or does something far more sinister lurk between the lines? From Patrick Weekes, one of the minds behind the critically acclaimed Mass Effect video game series, "The Prophecy Con" continues the action-packed fantasy adventure that kicked off in "The Palace Job.""

Starting things off perfectly. Very high hopes for this. So high it jumped directly to the top of my too-tall-already monthly tbr stack.

I love these books! This one was a little slower and harder to get into that the first one but the characters are still great and it‘s still an excellent heist story. I kind of can‘t wait to read the last one, but I also kind of don‘t want to because I don‘t want it to be over!!

If the fact that I did an actual fist pump on the train this morning at the big climax scene means this was good...well, then. This was amazing. This series is now firmly top three of my entire life.

This was just as the first one in the series. I adore the camaraderie between the crew.

That feeling when you go into the library to pick up two holds and walk out with 7. One unpictured.

Book haul for the month. My mom bought me my name on his tongue by Laila Halaby. I can't wait to reread it. I read Alison Croggon's Dark Days Pact and have thoughts. I have also read Alison Croggon's The Bone Queen but got the ARC cuz Alison wanted me to. 😊 I am looking forward to Bestiary, Nature of a Pirate, and City of Saints and Thieves. The rest we will see.

Delightful. I enjoy Weekes writing a good bit and he really does such a wonderful job with a team up! Lots of diversity being represented in this book too! Also A+ for making fun of negging perfectly.
