pick"Merfolk" is an action-packed adventure. Dr. Marty Murdock is on a quest to prove that merfolk exists. Seamlessly woven into the story is a great learning experience, as information about early man, marine biotechnology, deep-sea and cave diving detailing the experience, fill the story with realism and vivid details. And yes, you will be scared, because these creatures are not what you'd expect. I highly recommend this book by Bates.
