Cul-de-sac had moments I just wanted to punch some of the characters. It was a interesting read, I didn‘t expect the ending at all. This book also made you remember you never know what people have going on.
I'd say this one is between a "pick" and a "so so". The beginning and middle are extremely interesting. However, the ending kind of drags. Call me bloodthirsty, but I was so ready for this one character to get killed and it takes way too long to get to that point. ⭐⭐⭐ #2021Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter

Someone that lives on this cul de sac will die before the story is over. And so we are introduced to everyone that lives here, and it is a big cast of characters. And each family has their own issues - lies, deceit, abuse to name a few. This book is a slow burn. Any number of them could die or be killed. And Joy Fielding keeps you guessing until the end.
Great read that will make you wonder what‘s going on at the house next door.
I absolutely loved this book. It was full of intense things. A very abusive husband, a lying neighbor, a big mama's boy, an elderly lady and a woman who's husband walked out on her. One will end up dead. Another did it. But who. It's a tense book in many places. Especially the abusive husband parts. I wanted to kill him myself. lol
This book is so worth reading.
Joy Fielding at her best.
Was eagerly waiting for this book by one of my fav authors and it didn‘t disappoint. I grew up on a cul- de- sac and remember how it‘s your own little enclave. Fielding takes her cast of characters ( they might all have guns) and winds the tension little by little until a gun has to be shot. Great characters, great story telling. Never lets up from the first word till it ends.
This is a domestic drama about five families in a suburban cul-de-sac in Florida. Someone will be shot dead in the middle of a July 4th bar-b-que. All the couples have secrets and the story is told with multiple points of view. The characters are well-developed and the plot is fast-paced. I found the ending to be satisfying. There was scandalous behaviors of drug abuse, social issues, mental illness and an undercurrent of hope in the story.
