#MiddleGradeMarch @megnews
This book is phenomenal! It's another novel full of hard-hitting topics, that are all handled so well. This would be great for the book club or a read-aloud. There are so many important discussions you could have with adults and children. I loved how the characters all communicated with each other.
In my opinion, it's one all teens and adults should read.

Daisey I agree this one is so good! 2y
sblbooks @Daisey definitely, one of my all-time favorite Middle grades. 2y

This is a wonderfully told story about dealing with grief while also filled with math jokes and references. 7th grader Lucy recently lost her brother after a long illness. Her family moves for a fresh start, and she joins a class that experienced a school shooting and lost classmates a few years before. Everyone in the story is dealing with trauma and grief, and it clearly shows the difficulties of that while also presenting hopeful paths forward.

Daisey I will absolutely be adding this to my class library. #MiddleGrade #TRS2022 (edited) 2y

I really don‘t need to start another book, but I like having a separate book to read at school. I only made it through a few chapters today, but it‘s quite a beginning as we meet Lucy on her first day at a new school. She‘s recently lost her brother due to a heart issue, so her family moved, and she joins a class in which the other students are survivors of a school shooting, meaning they‘ve all lost classmates and friends.

ShyBookOwl Sounds like a heartwrenching one that will hopefully also be heartwarming 2y
Daisey @ShyBookOwl That‘s exactly what I‘m hoping for. 2y

So real and although a fiction book, the characters were believable and the story was incredibly well written!

AfterMath follows your everyday 12-year-old who just lost her younger brother and is starting school with students who are all survivors of a recent school shooting.

Just heartbreaking that this book is needed but it is, and every middle school student should be reading this!
Thank you to NetGalley for this arc in exchange for a review!

BennettBookworm Agreed, absolutely devastating 3y
