so-soGood grief that was melodramatic. It‘s a relatively propulsive story because it‘s so exaggerated. For me, the central conceit of obsessively visiting open homes didn‘t really add a lot to the narrative, and because of this it really felt like a story I‘d read a lot of times before. If you‘re looking for something easy and full of domestic drama, this will do.
pickI‘ve been on a good run of books lately. These are easy to read page turners. It‘s not the mystery I LOVVVE to read but it‘s sometimes even better.
pick⭐⭐⭐⭐Kate has a strange interest in attending open houses and leaving with souvenirs.We then learn she also numbs herself from the pain of her son's death through a daily alcohol haze.As the book unfolds it becomes clear Kate is unravelling she develops an unhealthy attachment to a family that reminds her of what she lost.I was all in for this book and not sure where it was going. Unexpected twists I didn't anticipate a captivating debut novel.
