Cute slice of life comics, but I'd recommend the IG over the collection, honestly.

While I normally don't buy non narrative comics, this was affordable and Alina Tysoe is probably one of my favourite instagram comic artists. The way she draws expressions is fantastic and her sound effects remind me of John Allison. The baby Beanie stories are definitely funnier than the adult slice-of-life ones, and the longer form (more than 4 panels) lose a little steam, but I would love to see Tysoe develop as a writer over time.
Beanie tells her story to us and a time traveling toddler version of herself who wants to know where the dogs are.
I‘ve been a fan of Tysoe‘s art & storytelling for a couple years now, & this collection serving as a memoir is no different. Her art style is bright, distinctive, & charming, & the stories she shares of growing up are relatable. I squealed out loud at the page where she is playing King‘s Quest VII with her 2 older sisters. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

This fun read is about young Beanie who time travels to meet adult Beanie and ask how life is. We progress through a series of comics of Beanie as a child, Beanie as a Teen, and Beanie as an adult. The author/artist did a great job linking the various comic panels together to tell one story. It was lots of fun, darling, and a quick happy read.
